XXXXing brush fires - I just got done driving home and you could smell
smoke inside the car and all the streetlights were shining through a
haze of smoke.

Too bad it's not weed that's burning, you could go for a closer look. Move
to the center of the country, it's the only way you'll be safe, XXXX living
anywhere near the desert or ocean. The desert always gets hit my asteroids
and the ocean is bound to produce a few 200 ft waves at some point.

Not to mention the stuff you get down in Arizona is as dry as the climate.
Makes your throat hurt. And ya gotta smoke a lot of it to get anywhere.

Yeah, you live in tornado/hurricane country, don't you?

But damn, I do miss those hurricane parties and I always enjoyed a
good thunderstorm - funnel clouds just add to the excitement, as long
as they don't actually hit you and none of them ever hit me, so I
liked it.

FWIW, much of the land that is burning shouldn't be. The desert
naturally consists of a lot of sand and cactus and a handful of other
plants which are really beautiful, but don't grow very big and don't
last year-round.

But for some XXXXed up reason, people moved here, and they thought
they'd bring along their lawns. Actually, about 70-80 years ago, some
grass (not ganja-grass) was brought over here from Africa. It did
well in the desert - too well in fact, but it allowed people to raise
cattle and shit.

But the grass eventually dies before it revives ("burst into bloom and
decay").

So it burns, and saguaros aren't designed to survive fires and so they
die and all your left with is scorched earth and some shitty weeds.

But that's okay, 'cuz some developer is just waiting to wreck the land
for profit and if some American happens to own prime real estate, the
Supreme Court just paved the way for gov't to hand it all over to
Wal-Mart - all in the interest of "economic development", you
understand.

What XXXXing bullshit!

Don't get me wrong, I love my country, but it has been taken over by
terrorists, and for the most part, they are Christian, not Muslim.

Just like every other place I've lived in the US, be it the midwest,
the Gulf coast, or XXXXing Arid-zona, you have a choice.

You can get commercial/ditch weed or you can get kind. IME, you
always pay a little bit more for kind, but IMO, it's worth it.

(some) Mexi-weed is actually carried in 50-lb bales on the backs of
illegal immigrants who cross thru hundreds of miles of desert.

I'm not in favor of illegal immigration, or even a lot of legal
immigration (e.g. H1-B), but anyone who can carry a 50-lb bale of
ganja on their backs thru the desert deserves citizenship - most
Americans don't work that hard.

Tornadoes rarely, like once every couple years and that's just the
general area. The only part of hurricanes I usually see are the
thunderstorms that get spawned from them. Down in Southeastern VA is
about the furthest North you usually see a hurricane.

Yeah I've had an occasioal tornado party. It's so eerie, the sky turns
a weird yellow color when a tornado's in the area. Wish I'd gotten a
picture last time it happened.

Sounds like Albuquerque, too. I got family there so I'm in that neck of
the woods every so often.

*rolling eyes* Who's 'economic development', exactly, are we talking
about here?

Couldn't agree more.

BZZZZT! Wrong! I used to live in New Brunswick, Canada, and we used to
get hurricanes there. Was in quebec city during hurricane hugo about
13/14 yrs ago, walked across a huge suspension bridge during the
beginnings of the hurricane, what a trip that was!

I didn't say we never see hurricanes, I just said we hardly ever do.
Maybe once every 4 or 5 years we'll catch the outer edge of one but
that's it. This area has never seen the full brunt of one as far back
as I can remember and I've lived here my whole life.
