I have tonsilitis. Who the XXXX gets tonsilitis at 20 years old? I
thought only little kids caught that shit. Oh well, at least my tonsils
can stay. The antibiotics seem to be taking care of it just fine.

hope you get to feeling better soon d9. just remember that having
tonsil problems is a great excuse to eat nothing but ice cream.

btw, had mine removed when i was 5 (yes, that was in the ancient times)
-- they ropped a fish hook down your throat, then yanked up on them
while cutting the attached parts with scissors -- or maybe it was
pruning shears.

times were tough before the invention of medicine ;^)

Sadly even ice cream gets old after awhile.

My dad had 'em taken out when he was 2. He said it was his first memory
(hell of a memory at that)

but not nearly as bad. I might be able to get solid food down soon.

That sucks. Good thing you don't have to have them taken out. Tonsil
removal is alot like chicken pox, in that the older you are when it happens,
the harder it is on you.

Nowadays they apparantly only take 'em out if they get infected like 10
times in a year.

Poor baby.
If you do get them taken out, make sure you ask for some good
painkillers. He-he.

Try this bloody mary for it, seriousssssly!

Pint glass, 3 or so large shots vodka, juice of half a lime, add tomato
juice, 1/4 tsp ginger powered stirred in, few dashes Worcestershire, black
pepper, SHIT-loads of Tabasco, then some more Tabasco, then for good measure
stir in some cayenne too.

Drink the whole lot in sips - first sip or two sting a tiny bit, but after
that it goes down super-smoothly and immediately eases the soreness, bonus
is it speeds up healing too AND you get alcohol inside you, which of course
is always good.

CHEERS!

i remember when i had regained consciousness (from ether, i think) that
the nurse asked if i wanted to see 'em. well hell, it's me, of course i
wanted to! they were reddish blobs covered in pus sores -- really gross
looking shit. made me wonder what they were trying to accomplish by
showing 'em to me. i guess they just got a kick out of the reactions
they got from the kids.

that's good news. i think the worst part about having that kind of
illness is definitely not being able to eat. hang in there dude!

My girlfriend's Dr. gave her Vicatussin one time. It's Robitussin with
liquid vicadin in it.

Lots of kids get a kick out of gross stuff, especially when its from
their own body. Look at how many kids (boys in particular) like showing
their boogers to others.

Yeah tell me about it. It's not like with a stomach virus where you
lose your appetite, either. I was one hungry motherXXXXer through all this.

I'm doing even better than yesterday. I think I can handle solid food
now, had some scrambled eggs no problem. I can still feel my tonsils
when I swallow but it's really more of an annoying/uncomfortable feeling
now than a painful one. It's kinda like having a loogie I can't spit
up. That's something I can take a lot easier than pain.

Not getting 'em taken out and all I got in the way of painkillers was
extra strength tylenol to keep my fever down. The only heavy-duty
medicine I got was my whopping dose of antibiotics. Ah well, at least
it seems to be working.
