| My understanding is the drug to be tested is Valcyte, used to treat std
herpes -- you've probably seen the adds on tv. If this isn't the
underlying viral component, and since anti-virals are very specific
rather than broad spectrum, I fail to see how it would help many of us.
The researchers mention that it would probably only be helpful to a
subset of ME/CFS patients -- after all, having ME/CFS doesn't mean one
couldn't simultaneously have std herpes, so controlling that would at
least take some pressure off. I don't think we're looking at anything
of broad usefulness to the ME/CFS patient community. My 39 cents worth.
