Marjorie et. al.,
I've also had canker sores (usually on my tongue) for many years, until
I discovered taking garlic supplements daily stopped them completely,
even when I eat a lot of "triggers" like strawberries. The minute I
stop taking the garlic, the sores return, sometimes so painful I can't
eat or talk. I too learned recently about the connection between SLS
and mouth sores (my dentist told me he asked a Tom's rep why they
include SLS in their products and was told that it makes the toothpaste
foam and people won't use a paste that doesn't foam). I could find only
one brand here in our health food store without SLS, Weleda "Plant Tooth
Gel".

Tom's of Maine, incidentally, was recently sold to Colgate. I guess
everyone has to retire some time, but it's sad.
