Well, the nice thing about it was how angry my husband got with his own
son - I felt so affirmed, given that it also took my man years to realise
there was something really, really wrong. I basked in his defence of me!

OMG! I would have thrown him to the dogs! How heartless. Took my hubby 8
years to finally get how sick I am. He used to think I was faking it to get
out of social functions. Ha! I give anythign to be sociable like he can be.
But... Now that I have a visible issue (my goiter) and the Hashimoto's dx,
he finally gets that somethign is really wrong, and I don't spend all
weekend in bed for nothing. I hear you, Mandi!!!!! :P

Hi Vicki Jo,
My Dermatologist also has Rosacea, and one time I asked her what she
took for her problem (since her skin looks so good). She told me that as
she needs to..she alternates taking 2 different antibiotics. The one that
she prescribed for me [Doxycycline] and also the one you're taking -
[Minocycline]. So I guess these are both the most common antibiotics
that are prescribed. I know that they are both in the Tetracycline family
of antibiotics that often is used to control acne. So I think that they are
similar really. I actually had a weird reaction to Minocycline years ago. It
caused some dizziness. As soon as I discontinued it I was fine. So that is
the reason she probably didn't suggest that one for me. I remember telling
her about it. She said she liked the brand name of Monodox..she does not
like generic drugs..so even though it costs me more..that is what she orders
for me. I have Insurance that pays for it..and it doesn't cost that much
more to get the brand name..so that is what I take.

That's amazing that the Arginine supplement has helped your symptoms
so much. I remember when I first got sick and my epstein-barr titers were
off the chart..really high..my Primary Doctor I had back then told me to
try taking that one..and the Lysine one too? I do remember taking it for
awhile. Let us know if it continues to help you...I think that supplement
is good for all the herpes virus'..I remember reading something about that.

Maybe Bobbie or someone else knows some more about these supplements.
I was thinking of trying that again..now. Thanks for sharing.

Shea

I too struggle w/ Rosacea,My MD prescribed RX Minocycline 100mg daily for
6
weeks. curious re: the Doxycycline, strength and directions, I wonder how
it
is different? I hate to take it, as it is summer and I LOVE the healing
effect of the sun for me, which I know is not good w/ this Rx. bummer
I LOVE massage, it helps my muscles alot, however due to expense, cannot
afford presently.I have had CFIDS for almost 5 yrs. unable to work
etc...blah
blah blah.....in march my MD put me on an Arginine supplement, and it really
did wonders for me, for 2 months I just kept improving and getting
stronger and
my LIFE back, then due to expense, I quit ordering it and have now been
without it for 7 weeks. It has really felt like a "relapse", back to
fighting that
virus, depression, exhaustion, the whole horrible ordeal, so the positive
in it is,
my body does extremely well on the supplement and I will find a way expense
wise to make it happen. My hope is, that as I get stronger again I will be
able to get part time work once again.

Thanks for listening and for all the support here, this is just an up and
down experience. Blessings to all, Vicki Jo
