Hello, I am new to posting to this list although I
have been lurking for a few years, just haven’t had
the guts to post, until now. I have suffered along
with all of you from this illness for several years
(14 years). The cycles are vicious at times and then
once in a great while I will feel fine for a few weeks
with false hope that hey! maybe I am really getting
better and then zowie I am hit again with a very bad
cycle. My symptoms are the same as most of you on
this list insomnia, fatigue, gut problems,
muscle pain, no energy reserves, migraines, dull pain
under lower left ribs and probably a slew of more
things that are all common to this condition. I have a
family doctor that is less than sympathetic, perhaps he
is just frustrated, but he will prescribe meds to help
with insomnia and pain. He always makes comments that
if I just pushed my self to exercise this condition
would greatly improve – not true- been there done
that.
I am seeing an internist Dale Guyer,MD in
Indianapolis, IN He is on the board of National
Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Foundation. He agrees
with Jacob Teitlebaum’s work (From fatigued to
fantastic). Dr. Guyer is very expensive and I won’t
be able to see him much longer as my insurance won’t
cover. He prescribes a lot of supplements and IV
vitamin therapies. I guess this has been long enough
and I hope to find a support group on this list.
Personal Info.
I am 51 and married to a very understanding man. I
have two children a married daughter 33 year old and
a 17 year old son still at home. Yes, my kids are 16
years apart and none in between! Of course I can’t
forget the grand-girls that bring much joy in our
life. Oh yes, the last 3 years I returned to work as I
was feeling a little better and convinced if I could
just work part time I would feel better at least
mentally about myself. I am a Rehab Nurse on an acute
care physical rehab unit which is very demanding at
times. So when I am not at work I am resting, hurting
and not sleeping well – this is no way to live. I am
trying to hang in there until my son is through
college – if I can hold out that long.
Thanks for taking time to listen.
