| Hi Cindy, Received your reply:
Two good sites you might find very useful. Type in "Jodi Bassett Hummingbird", and you will get all the published papers she has spent years compiling on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. (this is if you have not done so already.
..
Also "Pheonix Rising - ME/CF" , a GREAT site, with a newsletter, from Pheonix, Arizona. A lot of info on that also.
Type in "MERGE newsletter" . This is a ME Research facility in Scotland, who have published all the latest scientific evidence on ME/CFS. They are organising the London ME Symposium being held on 12th May, and I believe it is for professionals. It co
sts £290 (pounds Sterling for a one day symposium - so I presume it is for the medical profession). A great many experts on our illness will be there presenting papers.
Let us hope that far more help and information will come out of this one day symposium, and consequently, far more understanding from Docs. There will be many very experienced medical professionals attending, and papers presented. After all, The Wor
ld Health Organisation recognised this illness as an organic and neurological illness in 1969.
Type in "WHO Myalgic Encephalomyelitis", and you will get the Code Number and full description of the illness, as opposed to CFS, which I believe comes in many forms.
Anybody else got other suggestions for Jodi. ? She has a lot of reading to do.
We need antioxidants, e.g. Vit E., Vit C., ginkgo Biloba, supplementary vitamins and minerals, and a very wise diet. The usual stuff - loads of green veg, etc.
Co-enzyme Q-10 is also a very good anti-oxidant. One of my cancer pals has sent me Chinese WHITE Tea, (as opposed to Chinese Green Tea), which is even more high in antioxidants, and it is far more palatable. I use two bags, in 2/3rds of a pint of wate
r, and I am going to try to add my daily treat of a Double Scotch Whisky at 6 pm., (to make me eat), and see how that works. I only hope I do not kill all the antioxidants in it. !!! In the past I knew I could not tolerate alcohol, so I never use
d it nor abused it, but as I rested and became more well over the years, and added the full range of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements to my very wise diet, I found it was beneficial as an aperitiv, and was a daily treat I looked forward to, ra
ther than eating cream cakes or chocolate.
Continental (European) Dark Chocolate, is also beneficial for lots of disorders, so if you can pop a piece of dark chocolate in your mouth, as opposed to dairy light brown chocolate, that might be your treat?
There is a link for some cancers and ME/CFS, long term, so be careful with your diet, and do everything you can not to encourage lymphoma or any other forms of cancers. Cancers love sugar and iron, and hate oxygen, so antioxidants !!! Loads of vegetab
les. I eat seven different kinds of vegetablers perday.
Must start my Dinner - my one meal per day - which I enjoy, and I will raise my glass of white tea and double scotch to you. !! Keep the Faith. Get loads of sleep, Make no excuses to anyone, and if you meet disbelief and are not understood, print off
Jodi Bassett's List of Symptoms for ME/CFS and wave it under debeliever's noses. Kind regards Rita U.K. xx
