Hi Kathy,

I would not recommend you giving them any money. They are the ones who are
cozying up to the US government and not really supporting an progress. They
think advertizements will solve the problem. They've stopped pushing for the
name change, and in fact are now saying we don't need a name change, there's
no problem with the name "chronic fatigue syndrome." They also have
salaried (and non-ill) jobs there, and even the guy who founded the CFIDS
Association of America, which is who puts out the Chronicle, quit that group several
years ago and will have nothing to do with them. They use all your money to
pay their workers, not for research. I have nothing against people being paid,
but they are a very bad charity in that they use almost all that money for
upkeep and pay. Not for us, or for real advocacy.

If you want to get involved with a really good group that has a great
magazine and supports all- and I mean all- of the research that has come out in the
last 3 years or so showing the physical effects and causes of CFIDS, then
join the National CFIDS Foundation.

They will never bug you for money, they will even send you a complimentary
issue or two of their quarterly journal, and they are 100% volunteers who have
this illness, the money you give them goes to pay only for printing the
journal and for serious research.

Best,
