Hi Kathy :-)

You are correct, Kathy.

As you pointed out on the above...
Because the prednison weakens the immune system,
you can have infectious disease often.

I had already developed lymph TB (...tuberculoses....)
3 years ago. -- I have just succeeded to subside the
symptoms of TB on the 3rd of July.
(...NOT lung!, means "no contagious"!!!...
this is called "extra pulmonary TB"...)

As far as I know, using prednisone is "ok" after
sterilizing the TB (...in general expression...) with
CDC recommended treatment course.
(...total of 4 anti-TB agents...)
Unfortunately, I have had so strong allergy to
anti-biotics (...all anti-TB agents are "anti-biotics"...)
that I had to subside my TB with only 2 anti-TB agents
(...isoniazid and ethambutol...).
It is, of course, possible that the total of 2 anti-TB agents
really cured my TB. (...think about "old time"...)
But, as you know "prednisone" is "immuno suppressant
agents", I think it is natural to be nervous for prednisone...

Well, this is the reason that I thought about Vitamins/
minerals so seriously
(...prednisone seem to be unavoidable then, how can
i do for managing its dose as lowest as possible?...)

The reason that I decided to share my experience with
you was "because i had been CFS patient".

My first CFS diagnosis was in the US (Hall Health
at university of Washington) in 1989.
(...initial onset was confirmed 1979 historically...)
More, I got the another firm CFS diagnosis in Japan,
1992, 1999 and 2000.
(...means, my condition met to the diagnostic criteria
both in the US "and" Japan...)

Does getting the same diagnosis in a different
countries just coincidence???

*The RP onset was 1995 with severe
inflammation of my ear cartilages, which
I simply believed they came from CFS....

From symptoms point of view, RP and CFS have
lots of common points, such as "severe fatigue",
"slightly elevated fever", "mental confusion" and
so on. (...well, CFS is simply expression of the
"chronic fatigue syndrome" and it is natural to be
seen in various diseases...)

I have not had abnormal results from blood work while
I was categorized to CFS. I learned that you don't need
to have abnormal results from blood work for RP
(...RP is also symptoms based, "for now"...)

Hope this sharing could help of you.
I want to emphasize that you should avoid believing
"everything comes from CFS".
That is as dangerous idea as "all in your mind".

Hugs to all,
Rika
