food allergy diet...

| ok, at the risk of some thinking i've gone loony :-)
i'll tell ya, i've been toying with a raw vegan diet
for a few weeks... when i stuck to it several days in
a row (except i still ate cooked vegetarian at night
:-/), i did feel a little better. i was moving around
a little more, actually did a little craft painting,
which i hadn't picked up in years... i'm the one that
took transfer factor, and then been on valcyte for 4
yrs - helps, but no cure....
i know many of us have tried/are doing many different
diets - gluten free, wheat free, white free,
macrobiotic, nothing fermented, zone, rotation, high
protein, elimination, low carb, atkins, vegetarian,
vegan, i prolly haven't mentioned half of them... i
think the raw vegan covers everything... and can
supposedly even cut down/elimate meds/supplements -
carefully, and w/ doctor's supervision on
prescriptions...
i'll send a few links in another post for anyone
interested....
<<< I'm familiar with the idea of food allergies
causing gastro-intestinal upsets and skin rashes, but
I was not aware that they could also be the cause of
this unrelenting fatigue that's been plagueing me for
several years. I will have to research this further.
Do you have a web URL where I could get a food diet
plan that eliminates all the possible problem sources?

Yes, please do. I'm willing to try anything.
I wonder how long one should try a specific diet before
deciding that it's not doing any good?
I tried the Atkins/low carb diet for a year and did lose
40 pounds, but it had no effect on the fatigue. I gained
most of that weight loss back after going off the diet.
(Couldn't continue depriving myself of carbs.)

For me I'd have to stay on a diet at least 6 months to test it.
My symptoms go up and down too much.
Several years ago I went on a strict gluten-free and sugar-free
diet. I was already a vegetarian, but not for health reasons.
I had been meat-free and egg-free for many years before I came
down with CFS/ME/NMH/whatever you want to call it.
I stayed on this diet for 8 months. No change for me. I had the
same up/down pattern. I seem to be more affected by other things -
exertion, sitting upright or standing, heat (anything over 74-75
degrees), etc. - than by what I eat. But others may find that
food affects them a lot. I don't have ANY gastro symptoms (e.g.,
IBS) but many people do. To digress a bit, I really do think
that "CFS" is going to turn out to be 20 different illnesses
and that's why people react so differently!
There's a book that's called something like "Foods that Fight
Pain" that might help some folks. It should actually be called
"foods to avoid so that you'll reduce pain" because I think it
mostly focuses on what foods to avoid that might aggravate pain.
It helped me a bit with my endometriosis pain. I stopped all
dairy and my pain was greatly reduced.
Hope this helps.
