Carrie,
I've been ill since 1989. We all feel as you do from time to time. Part
of the depression is not from a mental standpoint. It is also a physical
inbalance that causes it, from this illness. Go to an MD and get on some medication
for the depression. It will help. Can you live with your adult kids? I am in
the same boat as you. I've been extremely depressed and have thoughts about
how going to sleep and not waking up would be a great idea. BUt our kids would
hate us if we took the easy way out. And who knows, you could die, and then
next week, next month, or next year, they find the cure, but you're not here to
get it. I find that helping other people with their problems gets my mind off
my own. I became a self employed personal trainer specializing in people with
medical problems. If you want to see an example of someone who perceviered and
was couragous, look at FDR. He had post polio syndrome, and lived his entire
life in pain, hiding his condition from the world. IN spite of it all he
became one of our greatest Presidents. There was a show on the history channel
about him, that gave me inpsiration lately. I know this sounds crazy, but you can
find a way to bring some money in, being self employed. That will give you
great satisfaction, and motivation to go on. If you feel desperate and need to
talk I will give you my phone number. Talking is better than this e mails
stuff. You can e mail me at Cattttttt@aol.com
