I thought it was interesting to see a recent article
indicating that the Chinese are actively researching
CFIDS:

[Detection of antibody against Borna disease virus-p24
in the plasma of Chinese patients with chronic fatigue
syndrome by Western-blot analysis]
Zhonghua Shi Yan He Lin Chuang Bing Du Xue Za Zhi.
2003 Dec;17(4):330-3. Chinese.

They found that 11% of PWCs had anitbodies and 0% of
the controls had them. Personally, I wonder if
they're just seeing cross-reactivity because of PWC
sticky sera.

In any case, this is the first Chinese article about
CFIDS I've seen.

So we have several different viruses and species of
mycoplasma now implicated. The problem for the Chinese
will be finding the anti-virual(s) which can deal with Borna
Disease Virus (BDV).

It seems to me cfids must be caused by the intra-cellular
inflammatory processes the various agents cause and somehow
these manage to mask themselves from the immune system or
themselves render it dysfunctional.

By the way with my undenatured whey I have gotten up to
walking 30 blocks on consecutive days with a couple of the
lower SF hills tossed in. Maybe my immune system is getting to
the point it can handle the nasty microbes causing my illness.
Crossing my fingers.
