Author Drugs vs alcohol

Hi
I was having discussion about addiction.
Once I found a web page that explained what I was trying to say, but like
all web pages it has gone walk about.
Basically from what I gather coming off alcohol is more dangerous than
drugs. The page said something to the affect that you should seek
professional help because of what withdrawal from alcohol does.
I'd heard this from other sources also including medically trained.
So can anyone point me to a good web site that explains this or explain it
themselves.
Nothing too in depth.
Cheers for any pointers
BB

Hi

I did a quick search on google and found these

http://alcoholism.about.com/cs/with...a/aa000125a.htm

http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/a/alc...al/symptoms.htm

There are probably plenty of other places.

Anything taken in excess is bad for you but if you beleive statistics then
you'll find that cigerettes and alcohol kill more people that all the
illegal drugs put together and if my fact are correct there are very few if
any fatalities with weed. Why that stuff is illegal evades me.

You have proof to back that up do you?. If they make it legal then they'll
be regulatory standards on it. for example, heroin will no longer be cut
with detergents and other toxins which actually screw up the liver. The
stuff you take will be proper. Ok heroin will still be addictive but so are
cigarettes and alcohol. Still I was talking about weed, not heroin.

Sure. I'd rest so much easier knowing the flight crew on the plane I'm
on had just smoked 4 or 5 joints and snorted a few lines of Heroin
right before take-off. And all of you pro-drug people don't need to
waste your time trying to argue this one with me. I am extremely
pro-drug use and all for easing restrictions for drug possession but do
not support legalizing drug use. I sure as hell would be less than
amused if I flagged down a taxi and hopped in not knowing the driver
had just shot up a hit of Meth. If anyone likes doing drugs then on
your days that you don't have work buy enough drugs and booze to party
your XXX off. The drug laws we have in the U.S. are just entirely
ridiculous and way too harsh. If you're selling drugs to 12 year old
kids then your XXX should be tossed into prison for life. But if you're
partying in your own house and plan on staying there for the evening I
really fail to see a problem with that.

Flying a plane high would be just as much of a cause for dismisal
as flying one drunk, or hungover for that matter, any anyone can see
that prohabition is a dud, legal or not, people XXXX, drink, smoke
dope...whatever, at least if it's legal, we can try to keep some
control over it
