Stopped drinking Dec 4 2005 after a very serious incident. (like that was
my first incident, but it woke me up)

seeing an addiction counsellor. she is great.

However I did drink last friday, one beer and a mikey of vodka. I don't
know why....... I had no reason.....

Was it because the cup was held to your mouth, or did the beer and vodka
sneak up on you. You have to be careful around those "cunning, powerful
and baffling" drinks. They'll jedi mind trick you into picking it up
and pouring it down your throat.

Perhaps you could take a moment off from being just oh, so preciously witty,
and share with us your thoughts as to how someone who is alcohol addicted or
dependent should go about stopping.

That way you wouldn't just sound like a smartass troll.

I'm jealous. I was just called a troll. I didn't even get an adjective.

And, I agree. No useful content in the posts.

I would be more than happy to:

1. Stop drinking.

There, no spiritual awakening, no psychic moment needed, no surrender to
a higher power needed. You'll be suffering from PAWS (Post Alcohol
Withdrawal Syndrome) for a while, so you'll alternate between the "pink
cloud" and the "pity pot" for a while.
For me, the best thing was to get out and do something, anything, that
didn't have to deal with alcohol. writing, chatting, whatever it takes.
But above all, I didn't sit in rooms waiting for a miracle to happen.
Miracles happen when you make them, and they're not that miraculous
when you get right down to it.
