| Did you know that the King James version of the bible is not the
original text? Instead it is an extremely well organized and
methodically edited text put together by 54 men in Great Britain at
three university locations (Oxford, Westminster, and Cambridge) over
the course of three years?
Although the bible committees were bound by 15 rules of translation
and consulted language experts, an exact word for word translation
does not exist. In fact every italicized word that is printed in King
James actually does not exist in the original Hebrew and Greek texts.
Did you also know that it is theologically documented that there are
certain parts of the bible that are actually considered to be
allegories, which have extremely strong spiritual and moral meanings
even though they are thought not to be literally true?
Did you know there is no biblical word in Hebrew or Greek for
homosexual?? Did you also know that it wasn't until 1946 that the word
homosexual was first printed in an English speaking bible and that the
word homosexual wasn't even invented until the early 19th century?-----

As if Godless Gary of alt.recovery.aa is any kind of unbiased expert
on the Bible. All he does is sow doubt. There are good translations of
the Bible. Admittedly, The King James is not the best translation
although still usefull.
The Khaboris manuscript is from the 4th century and was scribed in
Aramaic, the language of Jesus and is one of the better translations.

Homosexuality is condemned in both the old and new testaments. Most
Christian know this except extreme "left wing" Apostate churches like
the Metropolitan Community Church.
No matter how hard you try Gary, you cant make wrong right. Your not
God. Homosexuality does not have God's blessing no matter how much
you, or AA. try and make it so.

Tedw, take a look at the mini-series "The STory of English" we could all
begin to spake medieval English. That would certainly be in line with your
thinking tedw.

Did I get him riled up? I wonder if there's anything that can't be
ultimately justified by the Bible? That's why it's so easy to draw in
mental defects, fanatics who think that they can say 'godless' and
it's going to be a big deal. Whoa baby.
ted, some, people use to talk about blacks the way you talk about
homosexuals. Blacks were slaves according to the Bible and slaves
should obey their masters. That was what I heard in church. And
blacks were always talked about in demeaning and derogatory terms.
The best you could get was 'he's a good nigger.' meaning he obeyed and
did exactly what he was told. Then the good nigger got uppity.
The black people pushed back, peacefully with some, violently with
others. People just don't like to be considered inferior, you know.
So if ted keeps shooting his mouth off, he is increasing his odds of
'judgement day'. Maybe not the one he thinks.
Just as there are nuts in Islam, there are in Xianity. Read about
the loving, forgiving, God in the OT and then Revelations. Only
madmen could make up a God so cruel and it's actually revealing that
ted is lending himself to demonstrating what the lunatic fringe really
looks like. Little, powerless people that can only make sense to
their own kind. The "I come in God's name" crowd which only offers
proof that this particular God doesn't really exist.--the one who is
hell bent on destroying the planet of life. The ultimate irony.
Yahweh promises judgment and hellfire to billions. Of you can sift
through the Bible and find these trinkets of love and forgiveness but
the big picture has always been hate, vengeance and death and that's
the way the book starts and the way it ends. Coincidence? But not
just any old death, an eternal punishment and suffering. Torture is
the only way that this loving, forgiving God that ted represents would
have it. And torture and death along the way. And rather than take
care of business with just a few inhabitants to try again, Yahweh is
waiting to send billions to this eternal torture. That's ted's Guy
in the Sky.
This is why religion is on the decline and when science does reverse
the aging process, the death fear factor will be removed. No death
fear factor, no religion. It goes away because it offers nothing that
man can't do for himself.
Do we need to check of the success rate of conversion? I mean, after
all these years of how many people have gone to tedw's way? Someone
needs to do a study on ted's effectiveness.
Best,
GaryE

"Wound up" is the term I would use. With borderlines like tedw, if you
push the right buttons you get to watch these little psychic breakdowns.
Fun to watch, in a pathetic sort of way.

Homosexuality evidently.

This is the goofiest bit. People banter about the "success rate" of AA,
something that can't easily be pinned down since problem drinkers find
"help" on different levels and in different ways. But to realistically
examine the efficacy of religiosity? Pshaw! "Eternal salvation?" What a
silly notion. Living Christ's example by following the misguided,
self-righteous, Christian-jihadist, morally hypocritical "Religious Right?"
Pass. I prefer to keep company with those who find the whole thing
blissfully irrelevant rather than of those who purport to "know" THE answer,
*THE way*, for themselves and everyone else, too.

This is strange even for you Ted. I'll stick to a REAL Bible, thanks.
Thankfully, AA is unconcerned with these outside issues.

ATTENTION NEWCOMERS (and others)
Tedw Disclaimer
Tedw is a TROLL. DO NOT feed this TROLL.
DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME READING HIS POSTS.
Tedw is a prime example of a person who has a serious mental disease,
which goes far beyond alcoholism. This guy needs more than AA and/or
help with alcoholism. It's very obvious that he needs serious help
for his mental illnesses which go far beyond alcoholism. He probably
will implode real soon, and what worries me is how many other people
he will harm in the process. Whatever he posts on this newsgroup
should be immediately discarded. Ideally, no one should respond to
him, and he will go away and hopefully find more time to seek help for
his mental disease. Alcoholism as well as drug abuse and other
addictions are all mental illnesses, but some people who seek help for
their addictions have far greater issues that need attention and help.
Tedw is apparently one of these types. He is very unstable, and
appears to be dangerous both to himself and to others. Tedw is a
bigot, racist, homophobic and a religious nutcase. He also hates
Alcoholics Anonymous with a passion. He is a well known TROLL on
alt.recovery.aa, several relgious newsgroups, and other groups. This
man is severely mentally ill.
If you are a newcomer to this newsgroup or to AA, please discard
anything and everything posted by Tedw. AA is a good program and it
works, if you work with it. But everyone is different and unique, and
we all need to choose the ways that work best for ourselves.
Tedw is a deranged individual, so please disgard anything he says.
Set your newsreader software to filter out anything posted by him, and
please avoid replying to anything he says. This person is a prime
example of just how mentally sick some people are in AA, but is not
the norm. Everyone has issues that lead them to alcoholism or other
addictions, but some are sicker than others. Tedw is proof of just
how mentally ill some persons are. Even if he can maintain sobriety,
he still needs far more help. You can actually help him by NOT
responding to anything he posts. He craves attention, even if it's
negative. Do him and everyone else on this newsgroup a favor, and DO
NOT respond to him at all. This newsgroup is intended to discuss AA
and alcoholism. We can be serious or share some jokes, but we are not
on here to feed the sick mind of one individual who is out to destroy
AA and this newsgroup for his own pleasure. If you can not filter out
his posts, simply hit the DELETE key whenever you see anything posted
by Tedw.
Thank You.

What if the new person wants to listen and reply to tedw? That would
surely make the new person different and unique and show they are
capable of choosing what works best for them.
I don't know about other alkies but when someone says hey don't listen
to so and so...well it just makes me want to check it out. Especially
the replies to the goofy wingnut.
Along with the list of who not to listen to or read give us a list of
them we absolutely can't afford not to read.
