Not that I often agree with Virt, but I don't think alcoholism is a disease
at all.
Cancer is a disease. Diabetes is a disease. Spinal Bifida is a disease.
Alcoholism is probably a syndrome of sorts.
Its like that old Sesame Street song "One of these things is not like the
other"
