Wireless router installed
|

| Just installed a wireless router on my main machine - so now my favorite
neighbors can connect thru me. Of course there is a security lockout for
those that are a pain.

Naw, leave it wide open. That way when the RIAA comes knocking you've
got plausible deniability.

Careful. The RIAA could point out a wide open wireless router offers
aid and comfort to terrorists. Under the law signed yesterday that
makes you an enemy combatant. You could be locked up indefinitely with
no access to meddling courts or lawyers.

Sheesh David, you're becoming a real Henny Penny. I had Habeas Corpus

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Anyone who doesn't immediately recognize this most famous quote as being
written by Friedrich Gustav Emil Martin Niemöller would be no wiser for
my pointing it out. It is part of the zeitgeist of anyone conscious
during the second half of the twentieth century.

BTW, David, thanks for giving me the shove toward VMWare. Having fun

In case you are being serious and not sarcastic:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_the_Long_Knives
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Purge
All this assumes the Republicans stay in power through either the
willful disinterest of the public or outright stealing of elections.
The more they get away with, the more they'll try to get away with.
"But the great security against a gradual concentration of the several
powers in the same department, consists in giving to those who
administer each department the necessary constitutional means and
personal motives to resist encroachments of the others. The provision
for defense must in this, as in all other cases, be made commensurate
to the danger of attack. Ambition must be made to counteract ambition.
The interest of the man must be connected with the constitutional
rights of the place. It may be a reflection on human nature, that such
devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But
what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human
nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels
were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on
government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be
administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you
must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the
next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is,
no doubt, the primary control on the government; but experience has
taught mankind the necessity of auxiliary precautions."

If you would have figured out that the old "switch hands gain a stroke"

"switch hands"? This may come as a surprise to you, gramps, but SOME of us
actually engage in partner, ADULT partner sex, and require the "push-up"
position to prevent our bulk from squishing our partner...hence the
shoulders being wasted.
