Comparing my life the past ten years to a Phenomena that is not at all
uncommon among those having lived a secluded, cloistered, isolated,
out-of-touch existence most of their lives.
Kind of like the one remaining egg in the nest that refused to hatch until
Momma and Poppa Bird and the rest of the brood of little birds done flown
the coop and abandoned it.
The Little Slow Growing embryo wakes up one morning and see's light through
the opaque shell surrounding it's existence. Engages it's little pecker and
opens a window to the world.
Of course it's got nutten to bond on, still isolated and pretty well has to
hand raise it's self and form all it's conclusions about it's surroundings.
But it's a smart Little Bird coming out of it's One Hundred Years of
Solitude, and quickly makes a few observations and mathematical
calculations and determines that the world is round and not flat and then
sets out on an agenda and journey to go out and educate and lucidate the
world around it.
Somehow in it's solitary journey it comes across a strange looking TV with
some kind of keyboard looking device attached to it and idly starts pecking
on the keys and lo and behold it discovers the Internet and Usenet and
stumbles across a newsgroup with the letters aa in it which has got to
stand for Politically Correct *All* *American* because it is in lowercase,
which it figures since it has such a low volume of traffic on it would be a
good place to spread the word to the world about this fantastic new social
club kind of like a Lonely Hearts Club for social isolates and social inept
souls that is called Alcoholics Anonymous that it had run across in it's
search for identity.
So it's new agenda is now to not only inform and educate the world that it
is really round and enlighten the world about this new AA thing it has
found, but now includes a perceived need to inform and educate the world
about this Internet, WWW and Usenet discovery it has made. Not to even
discount it's discover of places like institutions of higher learning that
the world is evidently so ignorant and ignoring of.
Kind of like the young fellow here a few years back who ran the sig line...
"Stupid People! The world is full of *stupid* *people* and they don't even
know they are stupid."
Oh wait what is this stuff falling on my head? Perhaps I should inform the
world that I've discovered the sky is falling also.
