"CHARTER

The proposed group would be intended for discussions about different
aspects of arthritis and related autoimmune disorders, such as lupus
and
scleroderma, mainly from the patient's point of view. Medical
discussions are supposed to be informational only, not intended for a
substitute of consulting a properly trained medical practitioner.

Anyone with an interest in arthritis is free to post, including but
not
limited to patients, their friends and family members, doctors, and
other medical professionals dealing with different forms of arthritis.

The following are examples of intended topics:

- symptoms and causes of different forms of arthritis
- treatments, both conventional and alternative
- arthritis-related practical problems and ways to overcome them
- social issues relevant to arthritis patients
- emotional support
- different resources available to people with arthritis

Scientific discussions that are likely to interest arthritis patients
in
general are welcome on misc.health.arthritis, even if cross-posted to
sci.med.immunology.

Commercial advertisements may NOT be posted to the proposed group."

How about posting this every few days? It would help sort out the
uneducated advertisers from the deliberate rule breaking ones. Just a
thought. You got your way though-- You punished me for my ignorance
and I lost my yahoo account, but at least I won't ever make that
mistake again. Good luck all and I pray your pain from the arthritis
is alleviated.

It seems to me I heard somewhere that John wrote in article

Sure; just climb into the time machine over there by the sandbox, dial
yourself back to 1994 when the charter was written, and join the group
discussing and voting on what to include.

You may want to persuade the founding gimps to define "abusive remarks"
and "profane language;" the US Supreme Court could use your help with
that--they have to leave that up to individual communities or cop out
with "I know it when I see it."

Or you could do the grunt work again from the top and write a new
charter for a new group to your liking. :-)

I am quite happy to run with "I know it when I see it" thanks Don rather
than have to read the obvious abusive remarks that comes from so called
interested people.
Having stated that, I don't think it would be difficult to rough up some
guidelines which could be improved on as time went on - it isn't hard to
disparage an article without being rude, unless you are one of the
uncultured.

a <john.trueman@virgin.net> is a Surrey web designer for several 'health'
sites, including magnets [elsewhere he touted something called medi-wrap
saying he had arthritis], vit's, herbs, and juicing.

nothing def. to link 'em though there is the small fact that on
johntrueman.com is a link to a kimmlou, and her page has a link to a
'http://home.clara.net/rasc/' - that person spammed their websites back in
'99

now, elsewhere john.trueman@virgin.net shows a addy of rasc for an icq.

seems to be quite a coincidence - but what the heck - not enough to prove
anything.
