| A recent report out of Western Australia indicates that a Dr Trevor Marshall
is starting final phases of an anti-bacterial treatment against the disease
called Sarcoidosis.
Now what is Sarcoidosis ?

Well I had never heard of it until I read the report and then I find that
the treatment is a simple drug treatment that can kill bacteria that cause
immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
The report states that Dr Marshall worked at the university of WA at the
same time that Professor Marshall (similar name only), who won the Nobel
prize for medicine last week for his part in discovering that peptic ulcers
were caused by bacteria known as Helicobacter Pylori and not by stress.
For those that are not aware, this was a significant finding of cause and
successful treatment which overturned the medical thinking and treatment of
stomach ulcers.
The story states " Dr Marshall uses a therapy that is a combination of
antibiotics and a drug normally used to treat high blood pressure which he
believes can lure the wayward bacteria out of the immune cells so they can
be destroyed."
Perhaps the good Dr Brown's (1939) therapy may turn out to have some sound
substance:

Dr Marshall who is now Director of the Autoimmune Research Foundation in
California stated that phase two trials proved that tiny anti-biotic
resistant organisms known as L forms caused Sarcoidosis.

For those that suffer from arthritic symptoms it would be wise to read up on
Sarcoidosis so that they have an understanding, that perhaps, just perhaps,
that may be the cause of the symptoms called Arthritis.
In any event it is good to read that research continues to uncover possible
treatments to help those with compromised immune systems regardless of the
name . For myself, well, I will try the treatment if I can find a Dr willing
to give it a go.
Best wishes, Rod.
