Re: Glucosamine... Replenex
I have been taking Replenex, Melaleuca's glucosamine product since it
was first introduced in January 1996. Personally I have had results
far better than I ever expected from the consistent use of Replenex.
As a chiropractor, I am aware of many patient success cases from
Replenex and through my email network group I am aware of many more
success cases. Everytime I hear one of those "unbelievable" cases that
just can't be matched, a better success story comes along. Allow me
to share one of these unbelievable cases with you.
Michael McCullough, D.C.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
William Kemp, a 62 year old air-conditioning maintenance man for the
City of Boise was first treated at my office on October 30, 1987 for
left shoulder and arm pain. He slipped and fell on the ice at work in
1985 and was still experiencing problems. He eventually had two
shoulder surgeries that left him with chronic shoulder pain and
restricted movement. As a result of another injury Mr. Kemp had
lowback surgery involving five lumbar disc herniations in 1997.
Shortly after the lowback surgery he had to have another lower back
surgery for another disc rupture. As he described his chronic pain
and disability since these surgeries. "I could not function after
these surgeries. I could not walk, sleep, drive the car over 20 miles
without intense pain. I could not work and I was ready to retire in
January 2002 because I couldn't work."
From 1997, after his surgeries, Mr. Kemp was not treated in my office
again until September 26, 2001. He walked into my office without an
appointment seeking any type of relief due to his intense lowback
pain, burning leg pain and shoulder pain. I treated Mr. Kemp with
gentle traction and soft tissue manipulation without any hope of
improving his long-standing chronic pain. I informed him that I did
not feel that my treatment would be of benefit. My treatment did not
provide him with any relief. I strongly recommended that he start
taking glucosamine to help prevent his condition from getting worse
than it already was. As in the past when I recommended to Mr. Kemp,
he failed to follow my advice. In the early 1990's Mr. Kemp was a
Melaleuca Preferred Customer and closed his account because he didn't
want to have to use Melaleuca every month. Mr. Kemp is one of the
most "outspoken" individuals that I have yet to meet and he did not
follow my advice to use ANY companies glucosamine.
Since last treating Mr. Kemp in September 2001 I had not heard from
him until January 15, 2002 when he called to inform me that he was
feeling great, working and was without any pain. Needless to say I
thought he was either lying to me or on drugs (prescription). I asked
him what he had been doing or who he had seen to be feeling so well.
He said that he went to an acupuncturist after seeing me last and the
acupuncturist gave him two bottles of pills to take. As he explained
to me, he didn't take the pills for a number of weeks later until
after his wife confronted him and demanded that he start taking them.
Mr. Kemp's belief was that this was just another one of those deals
where he was being sold a bill of goods again. With pressure from his
wife and with nothing to lose he started taking the capsules in the
bottle. As he explained to me, "After taking the first bottle, I
started noticing that I was feeling much better and wasn't hurting as
bad, and thought well, I'll finish taking the another bottle. About
midway through the 2nd bottle I really noticed the difference. When I
ran out of the pills I looked on the back of the bottle to see where I
could get some more of this Replenex. That's when I saw the Melaleuca
label and called Dr. McCullough."
" I am now jogging, dancing and jumping rope without pain whatsoever,
and to me it is a miracle. Now I am thanking Dr. McCullough and I
don't plan on retiring as soon."
William Phillip Kemp
Comments:
Due to time and space I left a lot of information out. Mr. Kemp
agreed to share his story with everyone or I refused to get him some
more Replenex. Yes, Mr. Kemp will be enrolling in Melaleuca if he
wants to get any more Replenex. I let him buy a bottle from me so
that he wouldn't run out. I would like to make a few comments
1. I had Mr. Kemp come to my office. I would never have believed his
claims without doing an examination. I was amazed at his ability to
complete all orthopedic tests without any pain. In fact I was more
than surprised because all of his doctors and employers had given up
on him.
2. Keep in mind that not everyone is going to respond as dramatic as
Mr. Kemp.
3. I am excited to see how he is going to respond to the New Improved
Replenex formulation.
4. All glucosamines are not of the same quality, same freshness or
supplythe listed amount in the bottle. At this time I am still
convinced that Glucosamine HCL is the purist form of Glucosamine. I
am pleased that Melaleuca did not bend to the pressures of those who
think that chondroitins and MSM are necessary. The three new
ingredients: Bromelain, Ginger Root Ext. and Green Tea Extract will be
a powerful improvement to Replenex.
5. I am convinced beyond a doubt that anyone who is not taking
glucosamine over the age of 40 and in many cases even younger will
wish they would have been taking it in a few more years. I am more
than surprised that Melaleuca included three more ingredients and did
not raise the price! Not to mention cutting the price in half as an
introductory special.
