Colds and Cold Meds Affect Numbers?
|

| up until a few days ago my average morning fasting blood glucose
number was 99. over the last couple of days it has been up to 137 and
148. nothing has changed in terms of diet, exercise or diabeted meds
but during that same time period i have had a mild cold and have been
taking over-the-counter meds (actifed) to treat the symptoms of the
cold. i also have not been sleeping well.
i'm wondering what effect, if any, does having a cold or taking OTC
cold meds have on blood glucose numbers? or is this just a
coincidence?

Being ill often raises the numbers. OTC cold meds often contain sugar,
which raises the numbers.
If you need more answers, you might try in alt.support.diabetes .
