Glucophage and muscle pain
|

| I'm taking 2x 1000 mg Glucophage XR, and, my blood glucose does seem under
control. However, I'm having some mild muscle and joint pain that I think
this is causing.
Is this nothing to worry about (my blood and liver tests are normal), and I
should just take aspirin or motrin, or, should I switch to something
else--if so, to what?
Thanks.

I never heard if glucophage causes muscle problems. Been exercising a
lot or possibly have arthritis?

IANAD...If you have just started taking Glucophage or have increased
your dose recently and are having muscle pains (that you think are
related) you need to check with your doctor.
For the first few weeks of taking similiar to the above I had severe
lower-back and joint pain which spontaneously vanished after a few weeks
but I checked with my doc just to be sure.
Please remember that medication alone is not sufficient treatment for
diabetes.
