Author how I limited / reduced my voices

I would like to share some of the things I learned about stopping my
voices.

I would like to first state that I have a very sever case. I have them
24 hours a day, during all of my waking hours, and I have nightmares
every night. I have gone a month without sleeping, constant headaches
and extreme pains. I did not even have 1 second of silence for about 2
years. Now I can get about 3 seconds of silence.

I have never taken any medication and would always advise against it. I
am fortunate in that I have my own income from previous investments
that allow me to not have to work.

Here are some tips:

- just ignore them. do not talk back to them, answer them, or think
about them in any way

- if you have an itch in your body, or a muscle twitch, ignore it too.
it seems to be related

- my voices like some people and not others, if they liked one of my
girlfriends, they would back off and leave me in peace. if they didn't
like her, they would try to break up the relationship. they would
advise me to say something that I think is completely harmless that
utterly offends her.

- asking them to leave does not work

- reasoning with them does not work, usually, but has in some
occassions

- I found that placing my hand over the back of my neck, on my
forehead, below me belly button, and on my tailbone all helped reduce
one voice or another (I have lots of them),

- your spinal column has a long nerve in it that is like an antenna.
somehow they tune in to different parts of this. I am not sure how it
works.

- avoid watching tv or doing anything at night. this made a big
difference for me

- while driving, I would look up at the sky. they tend to diminish.

- I noticed while driving in a dense fog that they went away

- while at a hospital they went away quite suddenly

- when I am around certain people they go away, even if I am not aware
that they are nearby

btw I see them too, so at times I would see them distance themselves
from me. I have also been scarred physically, felt them touch me (it
felt like they sprayed something all over me), etc. I have probably
seen about 15 of them, and many of them have names.

- for some reason, while thinking about adam & eve covering themselves
with fig leaves, and correlating that to dreams about not having
clothes, they suddenly went away

- when I get angry they go away

- after they go away, they usually come back and find a new way to
annoy me

- while playing video games they went away for a while, but now they
are they when I play video games too

- believe it or not, I get a buzzing feeling on certain parts of my
body (again aligned with my spinal column). I noticed after a while
that it goes away when I am driving my car, walking, or moving my body
around. for example, as soon as my car would come to a stop I would
feel the buzzing again

- the voices seem to be related to something to do with my relatives. I
find that when they get angry, my voices get worse, and when they are
happy, my voices are happy

- I get rashes on my skin that may be related to hearing voices
(stress)

- I have some voices that shut up immediately when I am in danger (once
when I got a flat tire, another in dense fog, etc)

- talking to people makes the voices louder

- there is a part of the brain (I think called the broca cortex or
something like that), that if overworked, causes people to hear their
own thoughts in the audio cortex

- the voices tend to be similar to something that is already part of
our way of thinking.

- a voice that tells you to "kill yourself" probably just wants you to
change your attitude

- a voice that tells you to "light a fire" wants you to love someone or
something like that

- a voice that tells you to "close a door" or "open a door" is telling
you to not think about something and to think about something new (open
a door)

- a voice that says there is a monster in your attic, basement, closet,
etc, says that you have a fear or lack of love for someone (attic might
be thought related, basement might be related to feelings, etc) who
knows

- when we are asleep (I have dreams that are so vivid, I could talk
into a tape recorder the details of the dream WHILE I WAS HAVING THE
DREAM!), we seem to get a point of view that is opposite than when we
are awake. it might be different in different people. we have 2 brain
hemispheres, and one might be polite while another is not, or they
might both be mean.

- headaches are related to nightmares. I would have nightmare visions
all day long while awake, and have severe headaches at the same time

- if you know you are addicted to something, stop doing it. this might
be the best piece of advice

- when I was cooking, a voice would tell me to throw oil on the floor
(I of course ignored it). I later realized it meant to not use the
cooking oil because the voice was advising me that it is not healthy.

- the voices seem to be very excited or happy if I believe that voices
are just my own thought patterns that I've created in my life

- an only child hears voices (imaginary friends), old people (going
senile), people in hospitals, people who spend a lot of time alone
(cabin fever). especially at night or when you aren't thinking about
anything

- they don't seem to care about anything I care about for my personal
life.

- if you need something they will make sure you don't get it

most importantly, THEY ARE WITH US SINCE BIRTH. Everybody hears voices
to some degree, they just don't realize it. I started recalling all
sorts of times in my life when weird things happened and the same stuff
happens now, just 1000 times the intensity. I am with other people,
sometimes strangers, who say things (like freudian slips) that prove to
me that these voices can communicate to other people in the room,
people I talk to over the phone, etc. drunk people for example.
