fear of hacking. perhaps slunky could tell us whether this is even
technically possible. did i hallucinate what happened on AOL?

AOL is sort of sketchy. People have been hacking it almost as long as
it's been available. Veteran hackers have grown as AOL's security has
grown, when one vulnerability is patched it's only days before that
patch is breached or another vulnerability is found. The fact that AOL
is not only an ISP, but a client application as well only weakens
security more. Once HQ is breached, it would be easy to gain access to
any IP using root-like authority. Anything is possible with AOL. Packets
can also be sniffed using port monitoring, almost screaming your
account information.
