Author happy new year

I've been away for a while. I wanted to wish you all a very happy new year.
Who knows. A lot of good things can happen to us too.

Soon I will post some pictures that I took on Christmas vacation. I was
amazed that I could photograph the snowflakes as they fell.

The world is crazy. I am more and more convinced of that. Now with that
horrid earthquake I am even more convinced that this is one hell of a
dangerous place to live. It's getting so bad that I have decided to collect
any newspaper articles that could be considered good news.

Good news for today: There were elephants that saved some people from the
tidal wave. The elephants sensed it coming.

My cat is lying on the desk next to my keyboard. I like that.

my Mom's former priest went back to Sri Lanka. his church was demolished,
but they think he is alive. however, he has not been positively located
yet.

it's nice to have good news Katie. i get tired of the news that depicts bad
events such as murders. i sometimes watch crime shows like CSI or Dateline,
but they cover it better than in the news. i don't like "if it bleeds, it
leads" philosophy.

Happy New Year, Katie. For me, the world often works out to my virtual
cat snoozing on the desk next to my keyboard, as well.

Victim Of Alleged Assault Dies
Autopsy is ordered

An elderly Omaha man, whose wife allegedly beat him with a fireplace poker,
has died in the hospital.

Stanley Bach, 88, was admitted to the hospital on Monday and died Wednesday
morning.

Officers spoke to Mr. Bach in the hospital shortly after he was admitted and
he told them that his 89-year-old wife, Lulu, had repeatedly hit him in the
head with the poker.

Mr. Bach said he called for a rescue squad and was taken to Methodist
Hospital for treatment.

Hospital personnel reported finding injuries all over Mr. Bach's body.

Lulu Bach was taken into custody and charged with First-Degree Assault.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

jerasmus, this isn't exactly what I had in mind when I said I was going to
collect "good news" stories.

Sorry Katie,

I couldn't resist this "LuLu" of a story...
I know my piano playing in the style of Bach is pretty bad, but when the
news is living commentary on my playing, I have to speak up.
I'll look for brighter news though too.
