| are starting to bore me. the whole computing field, programming excepted, is
mainly technical. it's a lot of rote memorization, esp for certifications, and
i'm getting sick of it. on the flip side of the coin, i don't want to crank
out formulas and engineer products either.
maybe i should get into a new field.

Well, for some of us it's not a matter of choice. My voices constantly
tell me that advanced Mathematics is the work of the Devil.
I produce new formulas and theorems with wild abandon, smoking my pipe,
listening to Bach's music and enjoying what I do, because that's what
I've been trained to do. That's what I know how to do well. What else
can I do? I am what I have been trained to do. A trained monkey to do
Mathematics.
